The School aims to provide high-quality artistic training and foster bidirectional relationships with the labor, productive, cultural, and artistic environment of the region to contribute to the enrichment of the territory and its inhabitants.

The School of Art and Design of the Diputació in Tarragona is an educational center that trains individuals to interact intellectually, artistically, and creatively with the social, artistic, and professional environment of the territory. The artistic training it offers to citizens provides practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of visual arts and graphic and audiovisual communication.

As a public center, it is defined as inclusive, secular, and respectful of plurality, defining features of its unique character.

As a specialized center for professional training in plastic arts and design, creativity becomes a fundamental pillar in the development of the center's educational project.

We understand that this school is a bridge to society, transferring skills, knowledge, and abilities that allow us to move towards a model of creative society. A model in which people are not only capable of assimilating vast amounts of information very quickly but also able to critically engage to produce innovative knowledge.

The center's pedagogical approach promotes deep and meaningful learning methodologies with the aim of helping students acquire specific and transversal competencies, reinforcing basic ones when necessary, to become cultured, responsible, and free individuals.

Teamwork, autonomy, responsibility for one's own learning, communication, and participation in the social environment are encouraged.

Diversity is addressed by fostering individual capacities, equal opportunities, and establishing the necessary organizational and curricular measures. We encourage the student's own creative discourse in the field of visual arts, graphic design, and all graphic communication typical of the contemporary world, including drawing, animation, illustration, photography, interactive graphics, as well as jewelry, engraving, ceramics, and many other branches of contemporary visual and artistic communication.

We seek constant updating in the technical and cultural requirements of each historical and professional moment, without renouncing the tradition of crafts and artistic expressions, with their traditional procedures and classical and contemporary conceptual contents. We aim for a constant balance between professional efficiency and artistic excellence, and between adaptation to the latest technologies and knowledge of traditional techniques.

We declare ourselves a school committed to creative thinking, where autonomy prevails over dependency, discovery of possibilities over the impotence syndrome, activity over passivity, and expressiveness over silence.

Currently, the Center's Educational Project document is undergoing an updating process, proposed by the center's management, which will be carried out through the Educational Project Committee.
