Josep Fuster

Born in Villanueva de Castellón (Valencia), he begins his training with V. Romero and J. Talens Sebastian. Later on, he studied at the Conservatory of Valencia and Barcelona with J. Panyella and J. Tordera.

He teaches clarinet and chamber music at the School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC) since its inception and the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra (OBC) in 1993.

He has been invited by various orchestras (Orquesta Nacional de España, New American Chamber Orchestra, Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu, Orquestra de Cambra del Teatre Lliure, Orquesta Camerata Mediterránea, Orquestra de Cadaqués, Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra) with which has participated in concert tours in Germany, France, Holland, Italy, USA and Japan.

Since 2005 he formed a duo with pianist Isabel Hernández, who has recorded music virtuoso (Vol. I, II, III and IV) and two sonatas by Brahms and Weber & Rossini, work that has been a finalist in the National Prize of Music 2009. He has recorded with the concertmaster and OBC concerts no. 1 and 2 for clarinet and orchestra by Jesús Rodríguez Picó, as well as the Quinteto de la Sala de Llevant for clarinet and string quartet, the work he has devoted composer Xavier Benguerel, concert for clarinet and orchestra Albert Bitter with TV3 and Clarinet Concertino by Jordi Cervelló with Orquesta Girona XXI, dedicated work, Fantasia for clarinet, strings and small percussion by Juan Medina and Balada del Amanecer de Zulema de la Cruz, released with the Chamber Orchestra of Cordovan. He has played with the Orpheus String Quartet and Quiroga String Quartet. He has made several recordings for Catalonia Music, RNE, Radio France and the Netherlands Radio and also for record labels Hyades Arts, Stradivarius, Edicions Moraleda, Anacrusi Contemporánea, Columna Música and Ars Armónica

His intense activity teaching has led him to be a guest lecturer at various youth orchestras and taught courses and master classes, both throughout Spain and abroad.
