Illustration student Georgina Palazón has won the Eva Toldrà Award for her final project “Globo de helio”, an illustrated album that explores family ties and the mother–child relationship, inspired by a text written by her father, Òscar. Using hands as a recurring motif, Palazón reflects on emotional connections through illustrations based on family photographs.

Her creative process combined ink drawing, linocut printing, and digital techniques, resulting in expressive, layered imagery. “I created my mother’s hands with black ink prints,” she explains. “The marks are powerful and heavy; from them, I build textures, shapes, and silhouettes.”
