Ephemeral Architecture students from the EADR participate in the A Cel Obert competition in Tortosa

Second-year Ephemeral Architecture students at the School of Art and Design of the Provincial Council in Reus (EADR) will take part in a new edition of the ephemeral interventions festival A Cel Obert in Tortosa.

The group will intervene in the cloister space of the School of Art and Culture of Tortosa with an installation linked to this year’s theme: “Dreams”.

The proposal consists of a piece suspended in the air, made up of clusters of small glass fragments hanging from transparent high-strength nylon filaments (fishing line). This invisible suspension system creates the perception that the pieces are levitating, forming shapes that evoke floating clouds.

These airy forms represent the intangible and suspended state of dreams, where reality fragments and transforms. Natural light passes through the glass fragments and casts changing reflections and shadows throughout the day, just as dreams are never the same and fade upon waking.

In addition to the visual experience, the installation also incorporates a sound dimension: the slight contact between the glass fragments, caused by air movement, generates a subtle acoustic play that enriches the viewer’s immersion. A fragile and random sound that, like dreams, appears and disappears without warning.

Visitors are invited to walk among the clouds and immerse themselves in a dreamlike and ephemeral space, where light, sound, and silence combine to create a poetic and ever-changing atmosphere.

With this participation, the students demonstrate the capacity of ephemeral architecture to transform spaces and connect with emotions through art.
