Our Ephemeral Architecture students design the stage set for TEDxReus 2026

Laia Spano and Laia Pallarès, students on the Higher Vocational Training Programme in Ephemeral Architecture at the Escola d’Art i Disseny de Reus, are the creators of the stage set for TEDxReus 2026. This project has given them the opportunity to take their knowledge, creativity and talent beyond the classroom and contribute to a major event in the city.

The stage design project has been a creative and technical challenge, allowing the students to put the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies into practice. From developing the initial concept to bringing their ideas to life, their work highlights the importance of spatial design in creating a visual experience and an environment that complements and enhances an event’s content.

Ephemeral architecture has precisely this ability: to transform a space for a limited period, give it a distinctive identity and create an atmosphere that connects with the audience. At an event such as TEDxReus, stage design becomes an essential part of the experience, helping to shape the character of the stage and create the right setting for ideas and speakers to take centre stage.

Laia Spano and Laia Pallarès’ involvement in this project also demonstrates the connection between artistic and technical education and the professional world. Experiences like this enable students to take on new challenges, work with real-world requirements and explore the possibilities of ephemeral architecture in fields such as events, culture and communication.

At the Escola d’Art i Disseny de Reus, we are very proud to see our students working on real-world projects and contributing their ideas and talent to initiatives in our city.

Congratulations to Laia Spano and Laia Pallarès on this experience and on their excellent work!
