EADTarragona joins International Museum Day with exhibitions and cultural activities.

11 May 2026
Dia Internacional dels Museus

On the occasion of International Museum Day, on Saturday 16 May at 11 a.m., the exhibition Belonging. Garden Jewellery will be inaugurated at the Museu Apel·les Fenosa, presenting a selection of Artistic Jewellery works developed by students from EADTarragona.

The exhibited photographs are the result of a collaborative project with the Museu Apel·les Fenosa, through which the students have developed various proposals inspired by interpretations of the museum’s collection.

Through an exploration of the connection with nature and inspired by the work of Apel·les Fenosa, the participants develop a collective artistic creation. The project is structured in four phases—approach, exchange, creation, and circulation—which culminate in a public presentation of the results on 16 May at the Museu Apel·les Fenosa.

The day will continue in the evening with the celebration of the 2026 Night of Museums and a new edition of Journey to the Museum Constellation, a joint activity promoted by the museums and cultural centres of Tarragona and led by Auriga Serveis Culturals.

In this context, the fashion show by the designers Fermin+Gilles will also take place, presenting a proposal that highlights creativity, circularity, and the transformative value of sustainable fashion. The Jewellery students have taken part in this initiative through a collaboration agreement with the designers, creating pieces that will be featured in the show.

The event will be held at the Museu d’Art Modern de Tarragona on Saturday, 16 May.

First show: 9:30 pm – Doors open at 9:00 pm
Second show: 11:00 pm – Doors open at 10:30 pm

The activity is open to the public, although capacity is limited.

International Museum Day

International Museum Day is celebrated every 18 May, or around that date, with the aim of raising awareness about the role of museums as spaces for cultural exchange and the transmission of heritage. This year, the celebration revolves around the theme “Museums Bridging a Divided World”, highlighting the role of museums as bridges for dialogue, understanding, and social cohesion. Promoted since 1977, this international initiative seeks to bring cultural heritage closer to citizens and encourage their active participation.
