Summary of the Game Jam WTM 2025

This past weekend marked the fifth edition of the Game Jam Women Techmakers, hosted at EADTarragona in collaboration with EADReus, the Tarragona Provincial Council, and the Google Developer Group Tarragona.

Over the course of the event, up to 140 people participated in various capacities, contributing to a vibrant and creative atmosphere.

This year’s theme, “Women and Water,” served as the conceptual foundation for the video games developed during the jam. The event kicked off with an inspiring talk by writer and narrator Inés Macpherson, setting the tone for the weekend.

From Friday afternoon through to Sunday morning, participants engaged in an intensive three-day marathon to design and build a playable video game prototype. All teams followed the guidelines established by the organizers, with the final presentations taking place on Sunday afternoon, culminating in an awards ceremony.

• Audience Choice Award: Ascencio by Crab&Gamba Studio

The event once again highlighted the creativity, innovation, and collaborative spirit of the local game development community, particularly in amplifying the voices of women in tech and storytelling.
