The Women Techmakers Game Jam Returns to EADTarragona

On April 25, 26, and 27, the fifth edition of the Women Techmakers Game Jam will take place at the School of Art and Design of the Tarragona Provincial Council.
Organized by GDG Tarragona, within the framework of the Women Techmakers program, the event aims to give visibility to women involved in the creation and development of video games and to promote these career paths among younger generations.
Women Techmakers is a global initiative by Google that seeks to empower and highlight women in the tech industry. Its goal is to create a shared space where, within a limited time — a maximum of 44 hours — industry professionals, students, and local creatives can showcase their talent by developing a video game around a specific theme.
Participation in the Game Jam is free and open to everyone — women and men alike — as well as to individuals from both the tech and artistic sectors. There will also be mentors available to guide and support the teams throughout the development process.
Beyond creating projects during the event, the organizers aim to strengthen the connections among the key players needed to boost the local video game development ecosystem, and to build bridges between programming and art. The WTM Game Jam aspires to be a platform where anyone interested in the topic can attend talks, join a multidisciplinary team to share the experience of creating a new product, and benefit from the knowledge of experienced mentors.
Registration and more information:
Participation in the Game Jam is free of charge.
In addition, visitors or observers are also welcome. This allows people to attend the opening, see the teams at work, and watch the final project presentations on Sunday afternoon.
Both participant and visitor registration is free and can be completed on the website: gamejamwtm.gdgtarragona.com
