 GAUDÍ CENTRE, Cèlia Grifoll

The Gaudí Centre is a space that offers various services related to the city and tourism, and it also manages tickets for the Gaudí Museum, which is located on the upper floor.
It is situated in the heart of Reus, where commerce and various leisure and cultural activities take place, creating a constant rhythm and volume throughout the streets.

The project covers two floors: the ground floor, characterized by the glass that surrounds it and allows the exterior to connect with the interior, and the basement (-1), where the old air-raid shelter of Reus is located.
The functions that this space must fulfill include a public service area, where ticket sales for the museum and the information and tourism desk can be separated; an office for staff to carry out private tasks; a gastronomic area dedicated to the city’s typical products; and a small souvenir shop. Storage space, a staff break room, and a locker area for visitors must also be considered.

This project achieves maximum functionality within an open, bright space with many versatile areas. All these conditions are made possible thanks to a steel structure that supports wooden elements and outlines the perimeter of each zone. In this way, the wood adapts to the needs of each space, ensuring its functionality and creating a dialogue that unifies the entire floor, providing freshness, identity, and personality at all times.
